Hot In The Hive: Moshi Voice Control Alarm Clock

Finally -- an alarm clock for the sleeper who really doesn't want to get up. Since my alarm isn't within arm's reach, I always have to physically haul myself out of bed every time I want to smack the snooze button! The techie braniacs at Moshi clearly had everyone's lazy-bum side in mind when they invented the Voice Control Alarm Clock. Now you can shut your alarm clock off (or set the time, or check the temperature, or even set your next alarm time) by simply telling it off -- with its trusty voice control technology. I'm kind of thinking this device is dangerous for those who sleep like the dead (or those who talk in their sleep), but it does sound awfully convenient for us anti-morning people!

    Price: $24.99

Hot In The Hive: Film Roll Alarm Clock

Immersed in a digital age where Flip camcorders and iPhone cameras and Twitpic rule the world of picture-taking, it can be easy to lose touch with the retro photo technology of yore (or even of just a couple months ago). Celebrate the way things were with this Film Roll Alarm Clock. Perfect for the film buff or photography major (or for anyone who accidentally smashed their old alarm clock in a half-asleep AM rage), this roll of film won't help you take any quality pictures, but it will help you wake up and get yourself to class on time! After all, considering the alarm clock is just about the most loathsome timepiece in existence, you might as well make the dreaded early-morning blaring more tolerable with a dose of cuteness!

Now some of us are still in the dead of winter- it's cold outside, and sometimes you can hardly distinguish the grey sky on the horizon from the snow on the ground. On days like this, it's easy to stay warm in bed, and oversleep, setting your whole day behind. Well, if you invest $49.99 in the Clocky, you can guarantee that will never happen again! This super gadget actually jumps off your nightstand when it's time to wake up, and wheels around the room to look for a hiding spot. The alarm sounding guarantees that you'll be scrambling out of your bed in no time to find it! What's more, I'd bet that after stepping on one too many items in an attempt to find your hiding Clocky, that your room will be much more organized! How about that!

Cute Alarm Clocks That Get You Going Gently

I'll be the first to admit that unless you're a furry four-legged domestic animal, there's really nothing cute about waking up. From the bedhead hair to the questionable morning breath (and let's not forget that groggy first glance in the mirror - thankfully I need contacts), it's not exactly endearing. Which is why a cute alarm clock to wake up to is an absolute necessity. It's easy to hate the thing that screeches at you when it looks like nothing more than, well, an alarm clock, but replace that with an adorable alarm-emitting gadget, and you might just warm up to one. Home Poll: Women Are From West Elm, Men Are From CB2?

    image
    Chris K. on Feb 12, 2008 1:16 PM PST
Yesterday we asked the question that's been spreading like wildfire across the nation: Which moderately-priced modern home decor store do you prefer, West Elm or CB2? So far, the response has been split almost exactly down the middle! Perhaps its a testament to the quality of both, maybe it is due to Stylehivers' inherent sense of fair play, maybe its because you people cannot make up your minds! Whatever the cause, one thing is certain - we must delve deeper. Is this a Mars/Venus thang? Let's find out.
