I'm fascinated and humbled by some of nature's most basic produce; fruit, vegetables and eggs. They are perfect miniature sculptures where everything is just right; proportion, form, texture and sensuality. They would do Brancusi proud.
The Fruit Series started out with the Apple Slice Coffee Table. I added the peach and pear over the last few years and just completed the The Very Cherry Side Table. The Peach Table was originally designed as a dining table, but I opted to make it into a smaller version as a side table.
These pieces are a real tickle to make. I refer to them as wham-bam pieces. Where so much of my work is rather delicate, these suckers I laminate up, power up the chain saw and let her rip.
