Forget everything you've ever thought about feathers in regards to fashion -- they're not always best left to the birds or on tacky "Dancing with the Stars" costumes. When embraced with an open mind, feather jewelry just might be your hottest summer accessory, and I mean actual feathers, not textured gold or molded silver feather impressions! Feather jewelry is authentically boho-chic in that earthy, Pocahontas sort of style -- or at least, the effortlessly gorgeous image of Pocahontas that Disney has ingrained in our minds -- and has that down-to-earth vibe that looks feminine and pretty, yet slightly undone. Go laidback-luxe with a long strand necklace like this vintage piece from Shopbop, or opt for a more vintage-glamorous, boa-inspired look with a long chain bib necklace from Charlotte Russe. Be Animal Friendly By Buying Faux Leather

I know there are many fashionistas out there who are conscious of where the food they eat comes from and how their clothes are produced. But I've also noticed that many of us don't think twice when buying a pair of leather shoes or leather bomber jacket. While sporting a leather jacket doesn't exactly give the same signal that wearing a mink coat does, animals were harmed in the process. Nowadays there are tons of leather-like options that look pretty darn close to the real thing. The best part is, a lot of times they're cheaper than their real counterparts. Go faux with a BDG Faux Leather Hooded Bomber from Urban Outfitters or try the Sele Strapless Faux-Leather Dress on for a super edgy look. Take a look at my slideshow to see more faux leather looks that are sure to win brownie points with animal lovers.
