This raku bottle has been formed on the potter's wheel, skillfully carved and glazed, then fired using an American variation of the Japanese technique of raku.
The free-form stylized design was inspired by the koi pond right outside my studio window, which is frequented by a healthy population of dragonflies in seemingly every color imaginable!
No two raku pots are ever identical. Each design is individually carved and the kiss of the flame gives every piece its own personality and makes each one truly one of a kind.
This handcrafted piece of art pottery measures approximately 11 3/4" H and is signed and dated by the artist, Anne Webb.
