Video Style Steal: Alicia Keys Is Sad But Sultry In "Doesn't ...

Alicia Keys has quite a lot of success under her belt for a woman at 28 (but then again, what else would you expect from a girl who was accepted into Columbia when she was 16?), with her shelf full of Grammy awards and four chart-topping studio albums. Aside from her musical growth (and ascending movie career), we've also seen quite a progression in her hairdo -- from neat braids to unruly curls and now sleek and straight in her latest video, "Doesn't Mean Anything." But her hair isn't the only thing that's polished and chic. In a sparkly tunic, Alicia is classy as usual, and while she may be mournful and lonely in the video, I know I'd be much more cheerful if I had a hot pair of stiletto boots like hers! Check the slideshow to see some Alicia-inspired looks from her latest hit vid.

Francois Nars, creative director and founder of the iconic cosmetics company Nars, is celebrating 15 years of success with a new project that honors two of his favorite past times. As an avid photographer, Nars will release 15 portraits of specially selected celebrities wearing his products in a new, limited-edition pictorial. Each celebrity chose his or her own favorite Nars product and their photograph reflects the product's inspiration. "15 x 15" will be sold exclusively at the project's site for 30 days starting November 12th at 8 PM, with only 1,500 copies up for grabs. Each book costs $80, but all the proceeds will be donated to charities hand-picked by the celebrities featured. Some of the faces to look forward to include Marc Jacobs, Isabella Rossellini, Amber Valleta, Naomi Campbell, Olivier Theyskens, and Shalom Harlow. Which Emmy Awards Actress Did The Matte Makeup Look Best?

When the phrase "award show" is mentioned, things that usually come to mind in the realm of beauty are "dramatic," "high-impact" and "come-hither." You think plump red lips, rosy cheeks, heavy eyeliner, fluttering lashes... Okay, maybe I'm thinking Old Hollywood, but still, the stereotype is often still expected on big-night red carpet events like the Emmys. However, a celeb photo hound like myself couldn't help but notice the prevalence of neutral matte lips at last Sunday's fete, from drama queen January Jones' semi-sheer coral hue to funny gal Alyson Hannigan's peachy nude. Who knew that understated barely-there shades would be the key to shaking things up on TV's biggest night? Whether these downplayed lip shades served to help balance other features like Mila Kunis' smoky eyes, or simply matched an overall style like Kim Kardashian's sexy ice princess look, these TV sirens proved you don't need bold color or high shine to be a winner in our beauty book! Vote below on who you think looked best in her matte lipcolor. Photo Credit: PR Photos

Who Can Pull Off A Bright Red Pin-Up Girl Pucker?

    image

Forget shimmery beiges and glossy nudes! According to some of today's most beauty-savvy starlets, the chic trend in lip color during this almost-summer season is a punchy red-orange pout to match the red carpet they're treading on! With accompanying curly locks and sometimes even mile-long lash extensions to boot, it seems like young Hollywood fashionistas are taking a page from the old Hollywood glamour book and channeling some of their favorite pin-up poster girls in a way that's both classic and hip. While Katy Perry is no stranger to cranberry lipstick (topped with cherry chapstick, no doubt), other lippy ladies like TV bad gal AnnaLynne McCord, Katharine McPhee, and Evan Rachel Wood are less about the retro-glam gimmick and more about making a bold yet risky statement with their racy kisser. Bright red-orange lips may be a vivid look, but that doesn't mean it suits everyone! Vote below on who looks the prettiest with a ruby pout. Photo Credit: PR Photos

Which Brown-Eyed Beauty Has The Freshest Spring Makeup Look?

    image

With spring romantic comedies and action-packed blockbusters hitting the theaters and the Tribeca Film Festival in full swing, it may not be awards season anymore, but that doesn't mean that the red carpet is the least bit lonely! And while the warming weather certainly has us on the lookout for flirty styles and considerably shorter hemlines waltzing down the paparazzi parade, the season has also been lending itself to refreshing beauty trends that are just as note-worthy as the shrinking ensembles (after all -- celebs always have to be ready for their close-up!). With nude and natural toned-down glossy lips, thick lashes, and edgy-yet-classy metallic liner, this season's red carpet arrivals are demonstrating that when it comes to making an attention-grabbing appearance, it's all about the eyes. For example, the effortlessly seductive Kim Kardashian looked alluring at Tribeca's "Wonderful World" premiere with lush lash extensions, and Julia Roberts' charcoal-rimmed liner brightened her pretty peepers at The Film Society's Gala Tribute. Get That Golden Globes Glow With Celeb-Tested Bare-Faced ...

The Golden Globes may have come and gone (leaving Oscar buzz in the air!), but it's definitely not too late to pick up some fresh-faced beauty tips straight from the red carpet! While the paparazzi parade to the big event is commonly an outlet for dramatic red lips and come-hither smokey eyes, many of this year's nominees and attendees opted for a noticeably more natural makeup look. Though settling on more bare-faced, bone-hued beauty may seem boring or inappropriate for one of Hollywood's most dramatic nights, this fair-toned style actually fared quite well for the event's lovely leading ladies. From shimmering subtle shades of gold to pale rosy pinks, stunning starlets like Megan Fox and Eva Mendes proved that delicate hues are anything but dull! Check out the slideshow for more natural-hued makeup looks and the products you can use to achieve them, straight from some of A-list's elite! Photo credit: PR Photos
