Tie On A Bright Trench Coat For Spring!

The sun's finally starting to poke through, but many of us still need a little somethin' somethin' to shield us from some of spring's brisk temps. We've spent a winter in the trenches through the depths of the cold, but some of us couldn't make a step out into spring without our favorite outerwear accessory. You'll spring for trench coats in these colors to adorn your wardrobe. The best part about these jackets isn't their stylish buttons, their many pockets or their ability to create the perfect feminine silhouette with their narrow waisted tie and flared bottom-- these babies will make your stems look a mile high underneath their reverse-funnel frames. While they come in the bright colors that scream spring, many stores have moved them over to prices we just can't pass up, so button up, ladies-- don't let your spring ensembles shiver and show a little trench-love!

When money is tight, it can be hard to stun your peers with your stellar fashion sense. Well, fashion is like a chameleon-- it changes quickly, and adapts to everything around us, so when your fashionista within needs a good pick-me-up but you've got little money to spend, what do you do? First and foremost, focus on accessories! No matter where you go, when it comes to shopping for earrings versus shopping for a dress, it's the latter that will likely cause your ATM card to groan more. My favorite things to add to rejuvenate any outfit are bold earrings, and whether they're big, colorful, or just downright weird, there's always the perfect earring out there to make any outfit complete- and plenty of cheap, cute options at that. Check out my slideshow to find plently of modestly priced ear candy that's guaranteed to make any outfit!

Michelle Obama has caught our eye with her impressive collection of brooches and we can't wait to see what new ones she will wear as First Lady. While we're waiting, we thought we'd find some vintage brooches as well as some created by independent designers. Smashing Darling is a great online indie boutique to start with - they have a large selection from Bakas Artysta, and One Sweet Peach, as well as others. There's even a patriotic one, and you really can't miss the vintage fireworks brooch with antique gold and red rhinestones. Plus, we found some great brooches made of felt and even buttons- so perfect for your DIY-obsessed friend or even yourself. Check out our slideshow for a dozen of our favorites.

NYFW Round-Up: Fashion Is All in the Details

After seeing scores of fashion shows over seven days, I'll be honest, all of the clothes start looking the same. Betsey Johnson and Philip Lim looking the same? What am I smoking, right? Unfortunately, nothing. So sometimes its good to take a step back, and then take two steps forward, to see the intricacies that drew you to the designs in the first place. Sometimes its the place where two divergent patterns meet. Sometimes its the intricate interplay of 4-5 separates. Sometimes its a simple shape used in a new way. Sometimes its just indefinably cool. Here then are some of my favorite details from the New York Fashion Week runways.
