    Influential International Style: Kate Winslet

    image
kate napleton on Jun 23, 2009 2:25 PM PDT
Kate Winslet made a serious splash this awards season, and I'm not just talking about taking home all the most coveted hardware and, quite remarkably on its own, being nominated in supporting and leading categories for two different films. On the red carpet, Kate made heads turn. Favoring solid colors and classic shapes, Kate always picks looks that flatter her hourglass figure. Her style is defined by clean lines (she is rarely photographed in patterns) but carries just enough interest to keep us constantly wondering what she'll wear next. Whether its Zac Posen, Dolce & Gabbana, Carmen Marc Valvo or Escada, she always looks good. Check out my slideshow for ways to adopt Kate Winslet's your (friendship with Leonardo Dicaprio not included). Photo credit: PR Photos

Help Save The Children With A Bulgari Ring!

In honor of their 125th anniversary, Bulgari has created a gorgeous ring to benefit Save the Children's "Rewrite the Future" campaign. Through the campaign, Save the Children is committed to providing quality education to 8 million children living in conflict-affected areas by 2010. With each sale of the $290 stunning sterling silver ring- designed to pay tribute to Sotirio Bulgari, the company's founder who began as a silversmith- $60 will be donated to benefit this amazing cause. The sale of the ring is part of a larger initiative to raise 10 million Euros by the end of the year. This will also be achieved by the second part which will occur in May when 15 pieces of jewelry will debut in Rome and then go on a tour which will end with and auction in New York in December. Most gals don't really need a reason to buy jewelry but now we actually have a really good one!

Buy it: Bulgari Anniversary Ring, $290.

5 Fashion Designers Turned Hoteliers Are Taking Reservations Now!

    image

For more than a few seasons now, fashion designers have been creating something that can't be sent down the runway or purchased at the boutique. Why? Because the creations I speak of practically are the runways and the boutiques. They're fashion hotels, and they're just as opulent as the name would suggest. What is a runway, after all, if only a glitzy backdrop to all that is so stylishly luxurious? Think about it this way: maybe you'll never meet Giorgio Armani, but stay in his hotel (rumored to open sometime this year) and you'll be able to say you spent (four days and) three nights in one of his beds. Click SEE SLIDESHOW now to find out which designers are taking reservations!
