Women have been secretly raiding their boyfriends' and husbands' closets for ages now. Finally, fashion has caught on and this trend, though relatively new, has been around for a few seasons which is ancient in the fashion world, and probably means it's going to stick around for awhile. Boyfriend jeans, tees, and blazers have become very popular and it's sure to stick around this fall and winter. New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010: Ralph Lauren

This season, Ralph Lauren was back with the classically preppy looks we've come to expect from the designer (variations on the blazer, lust-worthy dresses), but included quite a few unexpectedly refreshing ones as well. I loved how many ensembles erred on the side of masculinity- for example, one was comprised of boyfriend jeans and a menswear-inspired shirt, then topped off with a blazer, beret, and chunky belt, only to be offset by a pair of glistening t-strap heels. Combined with natural-looking makeup and unfussy hair, each look was all the more believable. Quirky, tattered denim overalls were about as surprising to see as the head to toe denim look, but the "fresh from the farm" approach added a relaxed vibe to the typically put-together show. Crisp white layers were followed by sheer separates in cool blues, and a particularly striking iridescent floor-length shirt dress was just the thing to finish off a collection perfect for achieving that chic but not overly calculated country club look. See the slideshow for more from the Ralph Lauren runway at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week!

Stylehive's Stylescopes Encourage You To Raid Your ...

Okay, so it's pretty apparent that the "boyfriend"-inspired trend doesn't actually look like it came from your man's closet, but you gotta admit that it's a pretty cute concept given the comfy, slightly oversized fits that are still flattering to your feminine physique. And the best part about the misnomer? You don't actually need your own ball-and-chain to cop the looks. So whether you're single or attached, the stars say you're destined to rock the boyfriend look this week, be it a blazer, a pair of shorts, or even a zip-up hoodie that fits slightly better than the one your dude left at your place. Libras can keep it casual or even go pro in a boyfriend jacket and Sagittarius ladies will stay comfy-cool in some denim shorts, for example. Just be careful not to wear too many oversized items at once -- you don't want to look like you raided your dad's closet instead! Check the slideshow to see the week's pick for your sign!

It can be pretty daunting to even try and keep up with what's going on in the denim world, when new designers and trends pop up faster than you can steal your boyfriend's jeans. That's why it's great when you can rely on just one label to do all of the work for you! Rich & Skinny is that label. Now don't let the name sway you too much-- designers Joie Rucker (who you may recognize from the brand she created, Joie) and Michael Glasser (who started 7 For All Mankind and Citizens of Humanity) say it's just a joke, but there is a bit of truth in that Rich & Skinny jeans will make you feel just as amazing as their name suggests. From classic skinny denim to perfectly distressed boyfriend jeans, plus vibrant colored jeans and adorable denim shorts, this premium line is packed with the styles you want and the fit you crave- it's no surprise these jeans are a favorite of stars like Jessica Alba, Beyonce, Lauren Conrad, and many others. We spoke to Joie about her background in fashion, her denim styling and shopping tips, and the denim trends we'll be seeing in the upcoming months- click READ MORE to catch the interview, and find out how you can enter to win a pair of Rich & Skinny jeans for yourself!
