Celebs Strut Their Stuff In Catwalk Creations

    image

There used to be a clearer distinction between models and actresses. You could do both, but usually one skill set was stronger than the other. These days, though, many of our favorite celebs are gracing the covers of magazines and pages of photo-shoots in positions that used to be mainly reserved for the models. Celebrity faces are seen all over the place now in venues and mediums outside of movies and movie promotions. Being seen and celebrated for their art (music and movies) was one thing, but now people are turning to celebs for style sense and fashion tips. Logically, celebrities are answering by stepping out in trendy ensembles taken straight from the runway and parading themselves around for their adoring public. Diva superstar, Beyonce rocks this sparkly Balmain dress and it looks a lot better on her than it does on the model! Check out the slideshow for more celebs strutting their stuff in runway creations! Which ones looked better on the celeb than the model? You be the judge!

Lisanne Silverman on Sep 14, 2009 1:21 PM PDT
The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards were full of things to talk about- an inspiring, amazing dance-filled tribute to Michael Jackson? Check. Lady Gaga in multiple insane getups? Check, check. Kanye not having control of his mouth yet again? Check... how rude. And who could forget Taylor Swift's adorable subway station performance of "You Belong With Me," Beyonce's hip-shaking "Single Ladies" show, Pink's trapeze acrobatics, and, yes, the "New Moon" sneak peek? It's given us plenty to blog, talk, and tweet about, but let's not forget the outfits! Sparkly and short seemed to rule last night, but looks both dramatic (Gaga) and demure (Swift) stood out just as much, if not more. Click the slideshow to see our favorite looks from the VMAs! March On With Our Top 5 Favorite Marching Band Jackets!

What do Jimi Hendrix, Christophe Decarnin of Balmain and Sienna Miller all have in common? They all love marching band style jackets! Beyonce and Rihanna have been spotted in the amazing (and very pricey) Balmain version and Sienna looked retro-cool in her Temperley London version. Finding an authentic vintage band jacket is hard to do, and sometimes the fit is less than flattering. Good thing designers have been turning out more modern and contemporary versions! Go subtle with some slight button or double-breasted detail, or go all out with some major gold trim and adornments. If you want to be truly authentic, check out Nasty Gal for a few great vintage styles. Check out the slideshow for our 5 favorite jackets that will keep you marching all fall long! Video Style Steal: Beyonce Has "Sweet Dreams" Of Sparkles & ...

    image

Beyonce, like our friend Tyra Banks, always seems to come up in conversation whenever the word "fierce" is mentioned. This is why it was no surprise to see that her video for "Sweet Dreams," the latest single from her I Am... Sasha Fierce album, is no less stylishly sassy than the previous vids, and she again comes equipped not only with some seriously diva-esque outfits, but her two hip-shaking backup dancers to boot. This time, however, she amps up the costuming beyond the iced-out bionic hand and leotard-and-heels combo she rocked in "Single Ladies" and channels a similarly monochromatic wardrobe with a little more sparkle and shine. With over-the-knee leather boots, a sequin miniskirt, and a silver lame dress that seems to channel a sexier Jane Jetson (we won't even get started with the gold metal C-3PO number), B is still milkin' the futuristic she-robot look for all its worth -- and is still looking like a million bucks. Click "See Video" to watch her and her dancer-clones in action, then check the slideshow to see how you can cop her look without looking like quite a cyborg.
