Pretty Beach Cover-Ups You Can Wear All Day Long!

Have you ever noticed that when it comes to summer time apparel, some of the cutest, flirtiest, sexiest dresses are in fact, not dresses at all and actually beach cover-ups? There have been many times that I'm frolicking around on the sand and surf in a pretty cover-up and have wondered to myself if I could get away with wearing it outside of a beach or pool setting. The problem is, many beach cover-ups, as flattering as they are, are too short or too sheer to wear into public without garnering a police report, or multitudes of shocked stares. That's no longer a problem now as designers have heard our plight and have been producing many fun and sexy cover-ups that can easily double as a sweet or sensual summer dress, perfect for hot daytime activities. As many cover-ups are more casual in style, all you need is a pair of pretty sandals, like a jeweled or metallic version, or even some wedges, to help complete an enviable summer look. Just opt for pieces that aren't too sheer and that graze the thighs at a slightly longer length. Worried about a low neckline? A simple cami will do the trick! Click on the slideshow to see some of my favorite beach cover-ups that work just as well as a summer dress!

How do you say luxury in Hawaiian? Mae e ho'ohiwahiwa ai ka noho 'na. But while that may be a mouthful, finding a Hawaiian example of luxury is simple -- just look to The Royal Hawaiian Resort. Located on Waikiki Beach, Starwood's 529-room "Pink Palace of the Pacific" takes its cues from its luscious natural surroundings, as well as the history and culture of the island. Marvel at the property's 1920s Moorish architecture, lounge in a beachfront cabana, sip a tropical cocktail at its oceanside Mai Tai Bar, or try an alfresco massage in the garden, courtesy of the on-site Abhasa Spa. And don't miss 'Ah 'Aina, the Royal Hawaiian's weekly dinner and show featuring local cuisine along with dancers and musicians telling the story of Waikiki. Aloha, indeed!
