Is there anything more relaxing than a tranquil stay at a beach-front home? While it may be hard to venture off to a seaside escape, bringing under-the-sea-inspired home decor and the soothing colors of the ocean into your own living space is easily doable and beneficial to everyone. While an under-the-sea theme usually conjures up the bright colors and cartoon-like sea creatures reminiscent of Disney movies and kids' birthday parties, putting a more tasteful spin on things is easy! Subtle home accessories, peaceful colors and rich, quality materials make you home into a mini-beach front getaway, even if you live in the middle of the city. Click on the slideshow to see some stylish sea-inspired home accents that will help turn your space into a calm and charming Octopus's Garden!

Hawaii may be your default tropical getaway, but if you thought that shallow-water snorkeling trip was cool, you ain't seen nothing yet! Think outside the box and consider the Maldives for your next island adventure and explore the mass of tiny tropical islands in the coolest way possible aboard the Four Seasons Explorer. Starting at the resort's headquarters, Kuda Huraa, the three-deck catamaran takes you on an exotic tour of the most remote diving and snorkeling sites that are bound to fascinate divers of all levels! The 22-passenger limit and high-end accommodations (including an onboard bar, of course!) give the cruise a relaxing privacy, and there are plenty of activities to enjoy for both luxury-loving sunbathers and adventurous divers alike! Prone to seasickness? Don't fret -- you can choose between a three, four or seven day cruise, then spend the rest of your vacay soaking up the sun back on shore (but don't take too long deciding -- it's best to go between December and April for maximum daily sunlight)! And make sure you bring an underwater camera in case you stumble upon a whale shark! Look at the slideshow for a peek at what you can look forward to onboard the Explorer!

After all, how can a hotel expect you to be seduced into staying somewhere you've never been before without incredible photos that promise even more breathtakingly beautiful views in person? And looking at Burasari Resort's online bookings, it's hard to believe that the accommodations just boast good looks. From their stylish modern decor and just-opened spa to their fine dining and tropical beach surroundings, Burasari is the ideal place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the tranquil Phuket coast in the lap of luxury. While Fashion Week's weather has been becoming increasingly blustery, Lacoste's Spring/Summer 2010 show provided a much-needed vacay for its audience, channeling the carefree, sunshine-y vibe of a summer beach day with its boardwalk-inspired runway. With one main focus in mind- simple, sporty chic- the collection managed to be straightforward and effortless while still maintaining the bright and playful energy we've grown to expect from the brand. The models donned updated versions of classic tennis-inspired pieces like mesh sneakers, polo dresses, and cuffed shorts, but also threw in some unexpected twists, like hooded rompers, tailored blazers, and chic summery dresses that added a resort-like relaxed style to the brand's usual polished, prep school flavor. Take a look at the slideshow for a glimpse at some of the looks to come this spring!

Live Like A Queen (Or King) At Turkey's Mardan Palace

    image

In Antalya, Turkey, a beautiful city surrounded by mountains that sits right on the Mediterranean coast, there lies a resort fit for a king. Mardan Palace was made for those rolling in riches, and every penny has been invested into the development of such indulgent design that its majesty defies reality. And what better a location for such a world-class resort than Antalya, a city known for its proximity to great skiing, hiking, and shipwreck exploring as well as its important role in the history of the Greek, Roman, and Ottoman empires. The hotel boasts its own coral reef and lagoon, a spa so sweet it will make you salivate, and a vast swimming pool that appears bigger in area than the resort itself. Each room caters to this marvelous location with a view of either the Mediterranean Sea, the Taurus Mountain Range, or the pool encapsulated by a series of ornamented bridges. As if the beautiful view weren't enough, guests enjoy toiletries by Hermes and a 24-hour butler service. Excursions alone could occupy your entire stay, but guests are also entertained by 24 different spots within the resort to enjoy some luxury food and libations, including one with an all vegetarian menu, one with windows made of tropical fishtanks, one within the Palace's own waterfall, and one situated on the rooftop. It's a shame I've spent most of my lifetime without having considered Turkey an instinctual travel destination: It's now reached the top of my list! Hot In The Hive: SurfMonk's Perfect Beach Blanket!

    image

Summer has been speeding by, but it's not quite time to pack up the BBQ grills and sundresses just yet! You've found the perfect swimsuit, learned how to do minimal make-up to avoid melting in the sun, found products to use for "beachy" hair, and don't have to worry about getting sun-burned because, by now, you are a bronzed goddess. So I'm going to throw one more tip on summer fun at the beach or poolside your way! Lather up the SPF, adjust that bikini, order yourself a refreshing drink and relax and lay back on ... the sand?! The hot, plastic lounge-chair that's been sitting in the sun all day? No thanks. But no worries, because we may have just found the perfect beach blanket for you! SurfMonk is a company that specializes in all things surf and swim. They happen to have an awesome beach blanket, and here's why. First, it's huge. It's long enough to cover the entire lounge chair so none of your body has to get burned on the hot vinyl, and it can fit two people comfortably laying down! Second, it feels amazing! SurfMonk uses a special blend of bamboo (the new "it" fabric) and cotton to make their terry cloth, leaving the blanket super-soft and plush to the touch-- plus, they include built in straps to help tie your blanket to a chair or post in case of wind. Then, as if that wasn't reason enough to by this ultra-comfy, eco-friendly beach blanket, the thing even has pockets! Now you can store your keys, cell-phone or wallet right inside your beach blanket and not have to worry about it being stolen or buried under the sand.

    Price: $99.00
Who Found It: idabone was first to add the SurfMonk: Beach Blanket to the Hive.
