    LC Lauren Conrad For Kohl's Appeals To Recessionistas

    Like most celebrity designers with high-priced items, appealing to the masses has become the latest trend. Target, Walmart and Kohl's have replaced Bloomingdale's, Saks and Barneys. Who can afford those anymore? And so celebrities, or their advisers, got smart. Sell your clothes for less in highly trafficked discount stores. Genius! The latest celeb designer to jump on the trendy-for-cheap bandwagon is Lauren Conrad herself. While LC's casual, Cali-chic pieces used to sell for upwards of $150, her line at Kohl's, LC Lauren Conrad, is priced below $50. Consisting of laid-back tees, tanks, dresses and jeans, the line is actually pretty nice for casual wear. I even saw a pair of boyfriend jeans for $37! Her line debuted on September 15th in select Kohl's nationwide and her second collection hit stores October 1st.     Any fashion week brings with it a slew of star-studded parties, but next month's spring 2010 shows in NYC will be ushered in by an absolute extravaganza- Fashion's Night Out. The September 10th event will feature everything from model and celebrity appearances to in-store events and meet and greets, and of course, shopping! It's being put on by Vogue, the CFDA, NYC & Company, and the City of New York, with the idea that engaging the city in the fun and excitement of fashion and shopping will restore consumer confidence once again. So what can we expect? For starters, Anna Wintour will appear at Macy's in Queens (wow, who would've thought) to sign t-shirts (again, wow), Andre Leon Talley will host a game at Bergdorf's. Coco Rocha will be doing a special performance at DKNY, Sasha Pivovarova will be showing her art at Henri Bendel, and it-girls like Harley Viera-Newton and Alexandra and Theodora Richards will be DJ-ing about town. Want more? Manolo Blahnik will hold a meet-and-greet, Oscar de la Renta will sing, Opening Ceremony is having a block party, and Chanel will have a customized handbag studio! Still not excited? Mark your calendars: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will be bartending at Barneys- is it bad that I want someone to order a black and Tanner?     Tote A Messenger Bag As Your Chic Fall Carry-All

    Each year, usually right before fall, I get a hankering for a new handbag, regardless of how recently I purchased my last one. They're just so fun to build outfits around and I hate to hinder my creativity, you know? Right now I'm all about messenger bags- I'm picturing one crafted out of buttery leather, maybe a tad distressed for that vintage look, and preferably in a neutral hue- chocolate brown, khaki, even dove grey would be lovely. The style is undeniably classic and yet alluring at the same time, and the brand is nowhere to be seen (with the exception of a small amount of indicative hardware, in some cases). Larger ones add a seriously urban element to business ensembles, while smaller types lend effortless appeal to androgynous and feminine styles alike. My personal favorite way to wear one of these schoolboy-esque satchels? Strapped across the body, over none other than a flouncy party dress.     Paris Hilton Shops At Barney's In Yumi Kim's 'Woori' Dress

    Paris Hilton was recently photographed at Barneys wearing a very cute strappy green dress and white hot accessories. Regardless of your opinion of the heiress (or if you even have one), you've got to admit she looks pretty well put together. And I think I finally understand why celebs like Paris make such a point of dressing up just to go shopping. After all, they do say you should dress for the job you want, and if looking hot and shopping are career goals, then she's well on her way! As for me, I'll just settle for owning her dress. It's the Yumi Kim 'Woori' dress in Green Pixie, available on the designer's e-shop for a surprisingly affordable $210.
