Jersey Dresses That Take You Into Fall!

The transition between summer and fall is a favorite time for wearing jersey dresses. It is so easy to dress them up or down! We found some darling ones this week from some great indie designers. Deirdra Morgan of Punkin NYC has a gorgeous blue Italian cotton jersey for sale at Smashing Darling. Eco-friendly choices are plentiful this season-- check out OrganiK Revolution's soy jersey dress with the added mock collar detail. Gina Michele has several you should check out - the cute racer-back dress, Manhattan Madness, and a personal favorite, the draped front La Vita e Bella with its braided tie and back collar. Our friends at Etsy have some fun jersey dresses as well. SDN1982's soy jersey black wrap dress is very versatile. And Sandmaiden's Etsy shop always has great bamboo/cotton dresses. Bamboo Home Accessories That Are Stylish And Eco-Chic!

With all the talk these days about buying eco-friendly products made of materials such as bamboo, I decided to do some research. Turns out that bamboo reaches maturity in 3-5 years compared to 25-70 years for other trees. Bamboo is also renewable which means it will grow back after harvesting. So it's not just marketing hype after all! Bamboo products are everywhere and it's easy to decorate your hom,e from your living room to the kitchen, with bamboo! For the bathroom, I'm loving the bamboo bath accessories from Crate and Barrel. Did you know that bamboo fibers can also be woven into a gorgeous area rug? Remember, shopping for eco-friendly products means that you're doing your part in helping the environment. DIYthing's Favorite Designers From The 2009 BKLYN DESIGN Show

Have you been reading 3Rings lately? This design blog has a host of reviews about the recent exhibitors at the May 2009 BKLYN DESIGN Show in Dumbo. There are lots of great interviews and videos as well. There's even a piece highlighting one of our favorite Brooklyn designers, Daniel Moyer of Daniel Moyer Designs. 3Rings offers reviews of a range of product designers, from Warp Designs' Perforated Steel Vases to the delicate lamps of Levent and Romme. We really love the many designers who are using green design principles - check out the fun bamboo plywood furniture from Boo-Coup. Alicita Rodriquez introduced us to two great wallpaper designers - Shanan Campanaro and Jill Malek. Campanaro's Eskayel line is based on her original artwork. And, Alicita, we agree, Jill Malek's hand-screen printed wallcoverings are enough to make one swoon. Check out our slideshow to see some of our other favs.
