Pantone has been a worldwide authority on color for 45 years and when they talk, fashionistas listen. Last year, the Pantone-favored hue was mimosa yellow, which we definitely saw echoed in spring and summer fashions. And for 2010, Pantone's pick for the Color of the Year is... (drumroll please)... Pantone 15-5519, otherwise known as turquoise! Not quite blue, not quite green, but an inviting hybrid of the two, turquoise evokes thoughts of crystal blue lagoons and pristine, pollution-free skies. Most importantly, it's a color that pairs beautifully with whites, neutrals and browns and adds punch when paired with red. So expect to see turquoise-flavored accessories, jewelry, and clothing showing up soon. In the meantime, grab one of these fab vintage turquoise finds and get a jump start on the Year of Turquoise.
