Very large art glass mid-century modern bird figurine. Solid Glass 4.5 lb stylized bird.  In the Swedish Modern fashion, very popular in the 1950s. Anything 'Swedish' was adored by the Americans during the mid-century years. Made by Pilgrim Art Glass.  From their 'Swedish Modern' of the 1950s/1960s.  Made in cased glass using amber stained glass and a layer of clear glass and then hand-working the glass into the object shape.  The clear glass eyes and beak are applied. The flat seat has bottom-wear (tiny scratches on the seat occuring from years of surface contact).  Glass has a few random airbubbles trapped inside and has evidence of hand-working. Very large bird. Measures 12.25' long, 10.25' tall.  Weighs 4.25 lbs. In excellent condition. Shown in image 1 with an oversized 10.5' tall blown cased goblet (available separately). Shown in image 2 with a 3.25' tall green glass bird.
