    Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall...

    image

Let's be honest -- we all kind of love checking ourselves out. Whether we're sneaking a peek in the reflection of a street-side window, or openly (well, privately, really) gussying up to dance and sing in front of an imagined-audience-of-many, mirrors play an important part in our lives. Hell, I'm not sure many of us could go a day without seeing a mirror at some point. The best mirrors, however, are ones that are beautiful on their own, without the help of our lovely selves standing in front of them. And the best of mirror-makers are those that consider themselves artists, creating wonderful masterpieces that sometimes seem better fit in a gallery than, say, above your bathroom sink. Turn your home into a gallery that bills your face as the main attraction with the interesting accents that these artists have designed to make these mirrors of our pretty faces. Check out this slideshow to take a peek at some of the coolest mirrors out there!

My favorite aspect of art deco-style home decor has to be the ultra-glam mirrored furnishings. Not only can you see your fabulous self reflected in them, but mirrored pieces catch light, making rooms appear more spacious and bright. They also come in styles perfect for every living space from bathroom to bedroom and traditional to modern. Considering bringing one of these sparkly pieces into your home? Well, Stylehive can help! We've seen a fair share of mirrored chests of drawers, but lately the Hive has also been chock-full of unique mirrored home statement pieces and accessories. From a pair of versatile mirrored storage cubes to an affordable reflective glass tray, and even an old Hollywood-style entertainment cabinet, the Hive has tons of reflective home decor options. Whether you're newly single or just looking to spruce things up around the homestead, now is a great time to embrace your feminine side with bachelorette-friendly decor. Decorating is easy when you don't have to worry about whether or not he would approve - just fill your space with whatever you please! For me it would a mix of old Hollywood, art deco and a little pop art. I love glamorous chandeliers that make a room sparkle and draw the eyes up, as well as sheepskin rugs that are soft enough to lounge on. My room would definitely include some art deco-inspired mirrored furnishings, as well as some punchy pop art pillows. It was fun looking through the Hive for all of my bachelorette pad necessities - you should try it too! And also be sure to check out my slideshow to see what I found to make my apartment go from barren to bachelorette pad-chic!

Maybe coloring inside the lines wasn't exactly your forte, and you'll only own a Damien Hirst Diamond Skull in your dreams. But lucky for you, there are plenty of other ways to show your artistic side that don't involve crayons and millions of bucks! Yay! So let the geometric prints, watercolor effects, and deco designs in our slideshow of art-inspired gifts do all of the work for you, because these are the kinds of pieces anyone can appreciate, sans pesky museum admission fees!
