Stylehive Predicts Cycle 13's Top 3 Before ANTM Even Starts!

    image

Finally, the shorties get their shot at the title! If you're like me and have been counting down the days to the premiere of America's Next Top Model's most talked-about season yet, then I probably don't even have to tell you that Cycle 13, which features models who are 5'7" and under, starts tomorrow night at 8 on the CW. And while I'll be the first to admit that I was pretty terrible at predicting last season's top 3 (well, one of them made it!), that doesn't mean I'm going to give up! After carefully scrutinizing the contestant profiles on the CW site, along with a very thorough analysis of past winners (thanks to nonstop ANTM marathons on various cable channels), I think I've made a much more educated guesstimation of this upcoming season's Top 3. Check out the model bios and interviews at The CW, then click "Read More" to view my predictions and see if you agree! Photo Credit: CWtv.com

Couture Designer B. Michael, Others Show At 6th Annual ...

San Francisco, California. That may not be the first city you think of when it comes to fashion, but on July 25th, they held their 6th annual Fashion On The Square event at the Intercontinental Hotel. FOTS is not only a fashion show, but also gives back to the community. Brands and designers like Fabulosity by Kimora Lee Simmons, Apple Bottoms, and Old Navy and childrenswear stores such as Gymboree and Janie and Jack participated in the show and many of the models used were aspiring models from the area. FOTS also supports organizations such as K.I.D.S., Wardrobe For Opportunity and Fashion Delivers, providing clothing for children and young adults, as well as Hurricane Katrina victims. All the support given back to the community is more than appreciated, but it is a fashion event first and foremost and the best part of the show had to be the creations by up-and-coming couture designer b. michael. The clean lines and sophisticated look of b.michael's designs were hard to miss as models, including ANTM alum Marjorie, strutted their stuff down the catwalk. Separates were a modern take on business inspired wear and evening gowns were fluid and elegant and celebrated the female form. Beautiful designs, cutting edge fashion, charity fund-raising, stellar performances... sounds more like L.A. than San Francisco! Check out some behind the scene shots and runway footage in the video and slideshow!

Meet Designer KahriAnne Kerr, Stylehive's Next Big Thing!

I love reading success stories from people who grew up in small towns and make it in the Big Apple. KahriAnne Kerr is no stranger to small towns. She grew up in a farm in Tripoli, Iowa which she describes as "a tiny town in the middle of no where" and taught herself how to sew and design clothes. After going to school for fashion design and moving to New York City in 2003, you can now find her designs online and in boutiques all around the world! Her fashion line Kahri has found celebrity fans such as Fergie, Aubrey O'Day, and Paris Hilton. With her motto: "Be Rebellious!" it's easy to see why women looking for unique designs go to Kahri. Her inspiration for her Spring 2009 "Baby Love" collection came from listening to music from the 1960s and she hits the right notes with clothes that the modern day pin-up girl will want to wear. Her clothes are sexy without being trashy and it's definitely not something you can find at the mall! Keep reading to learn about how she's using fashion to fight cancer and click the slideshow to see her Spring 2009 "Baby Love" collection!

    America's Next Top Model Cycle 12: Pre-Premiere Top 3 ...

Just in case you live under a rock, haven't been counting down the days as excitedly as I have, or quite frankly just stopped trying to keep tabs 8 seasons ago, America's Next Top Model Cycle 12 premieres tonight at 8pm! I don't know about all you hivers, but ever since MTV started varying their usual Date My Mom and Parental Control afternoon programming by playing weekend-long marathons of ANTM (Cycles 2 and up, of course -- apparently they like to pretend that the first season never existed), I've been hooked on the show. From the house drama and couture clothing to their glamorous abroad getaways and fierce photo shoots, each episode is always entertaining from start to finish. You never know what kind of crazy ideas the producers will come up with to keep things fresh (what was up with Tyra's fairy godmother costume and unidentifiable accent on makeover day last season?), which underdog contestant will take judge Paulina Porizkova's snappy advice seriously and come out on top of the pile, what flamboyant clown-like accessories Miss J. Alexander will sport on judging day to pay homage to the eliminated contestants, or how many misplaced shameless plugs Tyra will throw into the conversation at any given moment (ie: "This photo of you is so high-fashion -- Have I mentioned that I was on the cover of Sports Illustrated twice?") ...Plus, if Ms. Banks' antics aren't entertaining enough for you, fellow long-standing judge Nigel Barker isn't too hard on the eyes either! Despite every season's surprises, however, I am determined to go out on a limb and attempt to do something so unthinkable at this stage in the season -- predict Cycle 12's Top 3 contestants before it even begins! After all, I've been having some Top Model withdrawals, and with the 13 contestants' bios already up on the show's official website, I couldn't prevent myself from doing a little pre-season sizing up. So if you're up for a spoiler (just kidding -- this is totally just a guess on my part) click READ MORE to see which three girls I predict will come out on top this cycle, then check out the slideshow for some pre-season first impressions on the 12th season's 13 models! Don't forget to comment back with some of your own pre- (or post!) premiere thoughts on the cycle!
