You may remember from elementary school history that Magellan was the first person to circumnavigate the globe and it was quite the feat. He started his voyage with 280 men and five ships on September 1519 and arrived back in port almost three years later with only one ship and 18 crew members remaining. But does anyone know the name of the first woman to circumnavigate the globe? That distinction belongs to Krystyna Chojnowska-Liskiewicz, who completed her journey in 1976 in only 401 days. Oh, and she did it solo! Of course, not all of us have the drive for adventure and the bravery required for such daring-do. But if you don't see a personal yacht in your future, don't despair. You can still embrace the spirit of sailing with these nifty nautical finds. Just click the slideshow to see the selection!

Nautical styles are showing up in all departments, for every piece of clothing. And why not? Seaworthy styles are perfect for spring: double-breasted sailors coats and high-rise trousers ward off the lingering winter weather, while dresses, sandals, and of course, swimsuits usher in the beach-ready style of the incoming season. Nautical pieces can be incorporated into your everyday wardrobe for a sailor's touch to any outfit, and there is truly a bounty to chose from. Sailing brand Sperry is just as fashionable as it is classic, while Ralph Lauren and Kate Spade are frequent and recurring fans of the style. For braving the high seas, taking a lookout from the crow's nest, stopping in port for coffee, or hightailing to the Hamptons, nautical styles announce the arrival of spring without leaving you out in the cold. Check out our favorite nautical pieces, and be the sharpest sailor around!
