8 Bandage Booties And Pumps That'll Have Your Feet Under Wraps!

    image
Alex Gambardella on Nov 3, 2009 4:22 PM PST
Sure, it's always sad to see a once-hot trend overstay its welcome, but the good news is that some of our favorite styles don't necessarily leave the racks forever -- they just migrate to another department! What the Herve Leger bandage dress (or its more affordable counterparts) did for the body, the bandage bootie does for the feet (well, sort of). We won't go as far as describing the footwear trend as "feet-con" in the spirit of "body-con," but the thick-strapped look is similarly sexy in its banded, wrapped-up appearance. Put a sexy spin on the classic Mary Jane with this banded suede pump by Acne, or go strappy (and save!) with a multi-textured gladiator-style heel from Forever 21. Take a look at the slideshow for 8 varied takes on the bandage heel!

Video Style Steal: Kristinia Debarge Works It In "Sabotage"

If Kristinia DeBarge looks slightly familiar to you, don't worry, you're not going crazy. I watched American Juniors too -- I'll admit it -- back when they still believed in inflicting Simon Cowell-like cruelty upon children... and Kristinia was quite the contender. She may not have made the winning group of singers (but let's face it -- it was probably for the best), but now she's making it big with single girl anthems like "Goodbye" from her solo album Exposed. In the video for her second single "Sabotage," she dons her darker side in a cropped moto jacket and textured tights, and shows off some sultry dance moves to boot. She may have first arrived on the scene years ago as a cute little crooner, but now she's sexy, single, and stylish... and ready to kick some serious butt. Click "See Video" to watch "Sabotage," then check the slideshow to see how you can cop one of Kristinia's video looks! Photo Credit: MTV.com

Say It Loud: Got 'Em At Aldo & I'm Proud!

The days of dreaming about how to get those $600 designer shoes are over. Most of us grew up with brands like Steve Madden and Aldo in our local mall or shopping center. Tried and true, we visited these stores for last-minute parties or a pair of work pumps... but not anymore. These brands have caught all the way up, and now feature designs that are fierce, funky and fabulous. With the economy in such a rough state, money is spread thinly for most. But for us ladies, having an amazing shoe must always be in the budget. With most prices at $100 or less, and styles that rival designer brands, you can two-step in your new shoes all the way to the bank! We love these strappy croc booties, especially at the bargain price of $90! See more fashion, beauty, and style news at Essence.

The Shoe Of The Summer (And Beyond)

We're all about getting the most out of our money these days. Why carry around an iPod and a phone when you can get an iPhone? And I've also gotten in the habit choosing handbags that are suitable for work and the weekend. So it comes to no surprise that we should be able to wear your shoes all year 'round too! A strappy wedge is the perfect shoe to take you from spring to summer and on to fall. The sturdy wedge makes them comfortable for everyday wear, and the strappy details can work for day or night. We just bought the Aldo pair (they're on sale!) and they're perfection. And if you're up for a splurge, don't forget this similar style by Chloe! Wear the shoes with your summer dresses and just add tights and other layers when the weather gets cooler. For more shopping ideas and steals, check out our friends at Shop Therapy!

Get Chloe Sevigny's Effortlessly Glam Look!

    image
Sabrina Newman on Nov 12, 2008 6:22 PM PST
Whether she's taking eccentricity to the max, giving new meaning to minimalist chic, breaking fashion rules, or abiding by tried and true standards, actress Chloe Sevigny epitomizes what being a fashion-forward trend-setter is all about, so when she wears something, fashion lovers near and far take notice! At the 12th Annual ACE Awards Accessories Council Honors Fashion Influencers in New York, Chloe showed how fabulous a no muss no fuss approach to style can be, wearing a soft sea-foam green mini dress paired with pale strappy sandals, a delicate combo that was given a dose of glamorous edge with a sparkling diamond choker and black crocodile clutch- all by Balenciaga- so much for the theory that wearing one designer head-to-toe is a fashion no-no! This look can easily go from day to night and the dress is one of those perfect pieces that opens the door for countless ensemble options. Check out my SLIDESHOW to replicate this fashion influencer's look!
