Farrah Fawcett, whose feathered blond hair and unforgettable pinup poster made her an icon even before her role on "Charlie's Angels" catapulted her to Hollywood fame, has died at 62. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas on February 2, 1947, the actress left her hometown to pursue a career in Hollywood, starring in shampoo commercials and television guest roles until her appearance as Jill Munroe on the 1976 hit show "Charlie's Angels" made her an international star. She went on to do off-Broadway productions and other movies including 1984's "The Burning Bed," and 1986's "Extremities," earning Emmy and Golden Globe nominations in the process. Fawcett was diagnosed with cancer in late 2006. She became close with former beau, actor Ryan O'Neal, who stood by her side throughout her struggle with the disease.
