Celebs Strut Their Stuff In Catwalk Creations

    image

There used to be a clearer distinction between models and actresses. You could do both, but usually one skill set was stronger than the other. These days, though, many of our favorite celebs are gracing the covers of magazines and pages of photo-shoots in positions that used to be mainly reserved for the models. Celebrity faces are seen all over the place now in venues and mediums outside of movies and movie promotions. Being seen and celebrated for their art (music and movies) was one thing, but now people are turning to celebs for style sense and fashion tips. Logically, celebrities are answering by stepping out in trendy ensembles taken straight from the runway and parading themselves around for their adoring public. Diva superstar, Beyonce rocks this sparkly Balmain dress and it looks a lot better on her than it does on the model! Check out the slideshow for more celebs strutting their stuff in runway creations! Which ones looked better on the celeb than the model? You be the judge!

Farrah Fawcett, whose feathered blond hair and unforgettable pinup poster made her an icon even before her role on "Charlie's Angels" catapulted her to Hollywood fame, has died at 62. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas on February 2, 1947, the actress left her hometown to pursue a career in Hollywood, starring in shampoo commercials and television guest roles until her appearance as Jill Munroe on the 1976 hit show "Charlie's Angels" made her an international star. She went on to do off-Broadway productions and other movies including 1984's "The Burning Bed," and 1986's "Extremities," earning Emmy and Golden Globe nominations in the process. Fawcett was diagnosed with cancer in late 2006. She became close with former beau, actor Ryan O'Neal, who stood by her side throughout her struggle with the disease. Influential International Style: Kate Winslet

Kate Winslet made a serious splash this awards season, and I'm not just talking about taking home all the most coveted hardware and, quite remarkably on its own, being nominated in supporting and leading categories for two different films. On the red carpet, Kate made heads turn. Favoring solid colors and classic shapes, Kate always picks looks that flatter her hourglass figure. Her style is defined by clean lines (she is rarely photographed in patterns) but carries just enough interest to keep us constantly wondering what she'll wear next. Whether its Zac Posen, Dolce & Gabbana, Carmen Marc Valvo or Escada, she always looks good. Influential International Style: Emma Watson

Knowing full-well that she could take advantage of an Invisibility Cloak at any given moment, Emma Watson's status as a rising international style icon is even more impressive. The Harry Potter star is all grown up, and as the new face of the House of Chanel, is rumored to also be replacing Keira Knightley as the face of Burberry. How does a wizard rise to a style queen seemingly overnight? By choosing classic shapes, flattering neutrals, and always looking age appropriate. Whether it's a risk of length or a gorgeous backless gown, there is always a little something extra to Emma Watson's red carpet looks. Also catapulting her into success? Refusing to follow makeup trends and instead choosing flattering shimmers, and backing it all up with a classic updo or soft waves for a hairstyle. This year, the Golden Globes featured one win for the beloved Heath Ledger, two wins for a tearful Kate Winslet, a handful for the spirited "Slumdog Millionaire," and a hilarious acceptance speech by 30 Rock's Tracy Morgan. But of course, who can forget the fashion? So we've rounded up some photos of film and TV's glamorous stars in case you missed the show and want to see what everyone was wearing. Eva Mendes donned a white silk Dior gown with a bold necklace from Van Cleef & Arpels private collection. Drew Barrymore channeled Marilyn Monroe in Dior Haute Couture custom made by John Galliano and a platinum bob. And Olivia Wilde wore a pretty ruffled Reem Acra dress in violet. Want to see more? Steal Scarlett Johansson's Old Hollywood Glam Makeup Look!

    image

Like many young celebs, Scarlett Johansson may be just as famous for her dangerous curves and her sexy look as she is for her movie roles. What sets her look apart from the rest of the sex kitten young starlet pack is her well-crafted old Hollywood glamour look that tiptoes the fine line between sultry and classy. Want to emulate her look? It's pretty easy as long as you have the right tools, and some restraint- a little too much blush and eye liner and you can go from red carpet to street corner faster than you can say Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Start with a foundation primer to keep skin oil-free all day and your foundation in place. Use a smooth matte foundation and a neutral peachy blush like NARS "orgasm." Keeping the eyes light is key with a darker lip- Scarlett manages to work a smoky eye by using a bronze eye shadow as opposed to a gray or black. The piece de resistance of the look- a semi-matte red lip. Line the outside of lips with a reverse lip liner to keep lipstick from bleeding and then apply the best red lipstick around, Lipstick Queen's "Red Sinner." Copy Scar-Jo's 1940's look for a night on the town or a pared-down version with a sexy pencil skirt at work. See how you can get Scarlett's look in my slideshow!
