Can't Get Enough "Glee?" Check Out Our Pitch-Perfect Style ...

    image

I was having a conversation a few weeks ago with a friend about our TV-watching habits. While he's watching crime dramas and more serious fare, I've been solely dedicated to fashion favorite "Project Runway" (of course!) and musical hit "Glee." I've always been a sucker for musicals and musicals plus high school makes it even better. While some of the plot lines can be pretty outrageous, there's no denying that all the actors are super talented and also have some pretty savvy fashion sense. My three favorite characters of the show, Rachel Berry, Mercedes Jones, and Sue Sylvester all have their own unique sense of style, and although fashion is far from the show's focus, it's certainly worth noticing. Rachel's preppy style with schoolboy blazers and cable-knit sweaters exemplify her character's perfectionism. On the other side, Miss "diva-in-training" Mercedes always wears bright colors and has plenty of bling too. Lastly, Sue may be a tough cookie and wears those Adidas tracksuits like they're going out of style, but her unapologetic attitude is a reminder that we should always be confident in ourselves. Take a look at my slideshow to see how you can "gleek" up your wardrobe!

Leather Gloves Of All Lengths To Suit Anyone's Winter Style!

If you've been procrastinating on gift shopping and instead have been stocking up on your own winter wear (hey -- a girl's gotta keep warm), don't forget to keep your digits protected from the cold too! For the wintry months ahead, leather is migrating from moto jackets to accessories and is starting to replace knits and cashmere in the realm of cozy hand-warmers. Fingerless gloves are all over the place (okay, so maybe they're more for fun than function) but you can put your own spin on the trend with studs or chains. Or, for an updated take on Old Hollywood glamour, opt for a longer pair a la Audrey Hepburn (though hers weren't luxe leather like these!). No matter what your style, you're bound to find your perfect pair among this season's varied selection! Browse through my favorites in the slideshow!

10 Trendy Trench Coats For Under $200!

When it comes to outerwear, trench coats are totally chic when you want to add a layer that's sleek, unlike your other bulky winter coats and fur-lined down jackets. They may not be the warmest all-weather option, but trenches can still keep you toasty if you opt for a wool version, and with the help of a built-in belt you don't need to worry about sacrificing your shape under a heap of fabric. Rain-friendly varieties can help you stay dry while you're braving the frightful weather, and with the added convenience of detachable hood, you practically have two multi-purpose coats in one! Of course, the perfect trench can force you into some serious debt, but lucky for all you thrifty fashionistas, I've found a selection of ten different trenches for $200 or less! Check them out in the slideshow!

Video Style Steal: Alicia Keys Is Sad But Sultry In "Doesn't ...

    image

Alicia Keys has quite a lot of success under her belt for a woman at 28 (but then again, what else would you expect from a girl who was accepted into Columbia when she was 16?), with her shelf full of Grammy awards and four chart-topping studio albums. Aside from her musical growth (and ascending movie career), we've also seen quite a progression in her hairdo -- from neat braids to unruly curls and now sleek and straight in her latest video, "Doesn't Mean Anything." But her hair isn't the only thing that's polished and chic. In a sparkly tunic, Alicia is classy as usual, and while she may be mournful and lonely in the video, I know I'd be much more cheerful if I had a hot pair of stiletto boots like hers! Check the slideshow to see some Alicia-inspired looks from her latest hit vid.

Embrace the '90s With A Drawstring Bag!

Ever since Alexander Wang came out with his handbag line, the too-cool totes have been seen on celebs from Mary-Kate Olsen to Kristin Cavallari, blogged about to death, and coveted by yours truly. One of my favorites was the 'Diego' bag-- a drawstring bucket bag that would have been perfect with any outfit! Alas, it's been long sold out everywhere so I've been on the hunt ever since. Drawstring bags always remind me of the purses my mother had in the 90s, so while their modern cousins have retro roots, they're totally current and fashion-forward. Drawstring closures are handy when you need to pack a whole day's worth of stuff without jamming a zipper. Best of all, they come in all different styles from totes to hobo bags! I've been eyeing the Classic Parina Bag by Gustto in bright yellow. Urban Outfitters offers an affordable alternative to the famed Alexander Wang bag with the Deux Lux Drawstring Bucket Bag. Check out my slideshow for more drawstring bags!

Go Back To School (Or Work) WIth A Stylish Backpack!

    image

I love tote bags as much as the next person but lugging my laptop, lunch, and other necessities to work everyday has taken a toll on my poor right shoulder. So I've started using a backpack as my day bag instead. The only one I have right now is an old North Face backpack from my high school days. It's still fully functional, but I've been looking for something a little more stylish instead of looking like I'm going off to hike a mountain. Lucky me, it seems like backpacks have become a trendy accessory with brands and designers from Kate Spade to Juicy Couture making backpacks fit for every fashionista. While backpacks can be seen most often in school hallways, chances are you'll also find people using backpacks outside of school and work. They distribute weight more evenly than large shoulder bags and leave the crook of your arm to hold more shopping bags instead! Take a look at my slideshow to see some stylish backpacks you should carry around this fall.
