Tired of black? Get some color in your vintage wardrobe! How's this for different! Bright blue lace gown in a floral pattern bordered with Art Deco zig-zags It features extremely chic gigot sleeves that were the height of fashion in the early to mid-30s - they were heralded as an 1830s "revisited" style. There is a bit of horsehair inside upper sleeve to attain a puff. The sexy low back dips seductively, and the row of 13 buttons. The waist is slightly raised in front and dips lower in back to emphasize curvy hips; the bias skirt falls gracefully to the floor. The original silky rayon underdress also plays a major role - its vivid magenta border peeks through to accent a sweetheart neckline and straps; a 10" magenta hem border swirls around the ankles. So you can wear the gown with this slip, or change the look and choose a nude or white slip! It's up to you! However, you'll have to be tiny for this dress if you wear it with the original slip (or you'll have to somehow increase the size of the slip). There is no give to the side snap slip, and it measures: 30" bust, up to 27" waist, up to 39" hips, 58" long slip from shoulder to hem. The dress has some stretch and will fit on me (tightly) with 34" bust, 60" long. Excellent condition for both pieces! Strong lace! It looks like one button may be missing from the very bottom at back, and I see one seam separation at bottom of slip (ah, if only I had a sewing machine!). It's a delightful survivor of the romantic fashions of the 1930s - the Great Depression era.
