Description: A one woman labor of love handmade in NYC. I love this generation of indie designers that are determined to make it…to quit their day job and make it as a mom, a wife, a student, or just being single but doing what they love. Hats off to them! Paulette is just that, a mom that was determined to quit her day job to stay home with her child, so she reached back in her childhood, and found a skill that her grandmother taught her as a child and started crocheting hats.

Description: HauHauz products are designed by the Finnish designer Satu Makkonen - this line is clean and simple. Satu handscreens the print designs on the finest of linen fabrics. Her collection at the moment includes a range of fashion and home accessories: cushions, throws, handbags, purses, table linen, kitchen accessories, nightwear and candles. I sense a touch of vintage in her designs, but also timelessness. A very soothing look that allows you to browse with ease…

Description: just sometimes we step out of the dream and create the things that once were only visions in our mind…it seems i have so many of these but push them back for there is not time at the present to make it a reality…but how long can we do that before we lose that gift? today as i was browsing etsy like i do on most days i ran across a designer that creates jewelry that takes you back… i love how she tells her story…

Description: Come back in time with me a moment, to the days of paper dolls and cut and paste…when our minds ran free with no worries. Yael’s creations reminds me of those days, she is inspired by shapes that she sees everyday around her, buildings, pictures in magazines and people. Yael creates her designs by cutting out shapes in magazines and paper that she carefully positions to create her designs. They are then accented with a marker to create the details.

Description: DIYthing interview Ramona West this week. We noticed one bag in particular…”Brooklyn”. “This unique pleated clutch features colorful doors of a brownstone building.” It is our favorite. We asked Ramona if there was a story that went along with this bag. Ramona: I came across this fabric in a vintage store and it reminded me of New York, where I am from. I now live in California so it was just a bit nostalgic. This piece is one-of-a-kind.
