Description:

Fancy something theatrical, darling? This ornate collar is perfect to instantly add interest and glamour to a simple outfit. Try popping it on over a plain t-shirt (a black one would be particularly dramatic), and get yourself noticed! The Collar of Delights is constructed in several layers - a recycled textile forms the base, which then has multiple fabric patches appliqued into place. Freeform embroidery provides a subtle hint of background decoration, and then I'm ready to go bananas with buttons and beads - the best bit! The collar is laden with more than one hundred beads and buttons, which are sewn into place whilst my two little girls are sleeping peacefully in the evenings. Adornments range from ruby red roses to frosted glass nuggets, sparkly crystals and my personal favourite - a dainty lilac faceted flower button, nestling near the rear fastening.

Description:

The Forest Treasures Choker was inspired by the colours and textures of a forest floor - twigs, leaves, berries, a plethora of stones and rocks, the sunshine glinting through the trees onto the bracken below. The choker has a fabric base, onto which I applique co-ordinating pieces of material, and then I freeform embroider the surface using a metallic silvery thread. Copper bronze flowers are formed from lustrous fabric, and then embroidered into position. Lengths of velvet and floral trims are also applied, after which the entire choker is laden with buttons and beads - old, vintage or new. Glass beads (frosted and clear) catch the light, adding to the textural qualities of this choker.
