Description:

OOAK and whimsical delight in golden shades of topaz. A 1960's flashcard image of a bobwhite is flanked by two turn of the century postcard clippings - one a pigeon, one I can't identify. Original paper clippings are set without glues or varnishes under plastic in brass settings, tightly. The brass settings are joined to reproduction brass tooling in an antique finish.

Description:

This Black and White Mardi Gras soap dish is hand made in Portland Oregon. We carefully hand cut two pieces of glass that are 4 inches by 5 inches. The two pieces are stacked on top of one another and placed into a kiln. The pieces are heated to 1,450 degrees and are fused into one flat piece. 4 round pieces of glass rod are hand cut, positioned on top of the 4x5 flat glass and placed into another kiln. The glass is reheated to 1,350 degrees and the glass rods are tack fused onto the 4x5 flat glass. The flat glass is now set into a mold, placed into another kiln and heated to 1,250 degrees. The glass falls into the mold which give it the sides that makes it a dish.

It is made from cream/beige linen and lined with vintage, floral blush/pink colored cotton. The interior contains a small pocket with my dottie angel label, perfect size for your cell phone. At the base of the bag is a piece of antique lace from my grandmothers collection. The black faux bamboo handles have been attached to the bag with crochet in 100% wool yarn. To add an elegant touch I have placed a large vintage shell button on the front.

This little girl bunny would be a cute addition to any kitchen for the upcoming Spring/Easter Holidays. She should be used only for decorative purposes. Her fancy bow and pom pom cheeks wouldnt fare well with a hot pot lying on them! She has one bendable ear to position any way you like and she wears a magenta colored furry bow on her other ear. Measures 6 1/2 inches across face and 11 inches high including his bunny ears. I hope she can hippity skip and hop into your kitchen.

Cast brass silver plated hearts adorn this twelve inch diameter mirror. The actual mirror part is 6 inches in diameter. Stainless steel and broken china surround the mirror. The sides are covered with hand cut stained glass. The back is finished and ready to hang. The mirror is signed and dated. This piece was made by painstakingly cutting and placing each piece (tesserae) one at a time. The mirror has very tiny spaces between pieces. I like to think my work is about the tesserae and not the grout.
