Carefully chosen materials and refined technique characterise my recent works towards a simplification of form through a process of manipulation and refinement. Chainsaw and custom-made tools carefully fashion the graceful contours, continually subtracting mass. Working process combines material behaviour with colour and texture. Oak bends a great deal, creating fluid lines in a haphazard game of chance. Sycamore is unpredictable often resulting in paper-thin vessels. Each piece is an individual, exciting form in its own right, thus making the decision between one wood and another an integral part of the creative process.

Marc Pascal (1990's, 2000's) A gorgeous (and immensely practical) condiment holder for those who love to entertain - we think we'll award Marc 'Honorary Female' status for this one! Great design - form meets function perfectly here and with salt and pepper flakes having been made so popular by the Jamie Oliver's of this world, it's great to have a retro looking practical method for you and your guests to use (and pass) the salt and pepper. Stoneware and neoprene base with stem and lid in Australian wood.

Sculptures of wood On shipyards and depots Rik Davids finds old, but usable bottom planking and scrap wood. He dries, saws, sorts and assembles it to a large dish. These beautiful objects are all different and are available in six different sizes. The charm of the wood is that it shows the history of the material very well. Strokes of paint, nail holes, signs of wear refer to a time that has past.
