In contrast to the stiff and heavy fabrics which Christian Dior couture has recently been using in their trademark voluminous dresses, Galliano used layers of light chiffon and hand-embroidered sheer lace that provided a “window” to what’s underneath. “It’s a sort of homage to photographers and cameramen,” Galliano said of his choice of monochrome black and white, which helped bring the focus on the structure and details of the pieces.
