Late 40’s or very early 50’s cocktail or party dress in a larger size. Beaded and pin tucked bodice with a square neckline that is accented with bows. Cap sleeves. Gored, full skirt has small pin ticks extending from waistline. Shoulder pads. Side metal zipper. Skirt is lined. Shown with belt and small crinoline that are not included, I have shown it without the crinoline because I do not think the dress was meant to be worn with one due to the skirt lining that is not as full as the skirt itself.

From Old and Beautiful Vintage a deco era purse. Completed in brown silk velvet, the purse has an ornate brass frame. Black and orange enamel paint, with 2 tiny rhinestone on either side of the clasp. Also 2 orange stones one of which has a end broken off and missing. The double cord handle has a ball and bangle bead hanging from it. Its a small evening bag, very nice.

Darling 1950's dark green felt hat still wearing the original price tag. Cups over the head coming lower on the right side with a small cluster of feathers and green netting. The special effect of this hat is a long red feather coming from the side and extending across the front and into the air.

This is so sweet and I can see it with jeans and boots or a peplum skirt, so many different ways. The black is very dark black and the red cherries pop right off the front. This closes with hook and eye which creates a very smooth look. The bodice is lined and the sleeves are not, the sweater is an 80/20 cashmere wool blend with the 80% cashmere.

As anyone who is anyone [& who has read anything anywhere about me over the not so recent past] knows, the person w/ whom I live is a drummer. Semi-problematic, true, but in ways unusual for the profession [& I would know]. However: False, I think, that these are rhinestone BONGO drums. Bongo drums are paired & linked [just like so many of us sad persons]. These seem to be more conga, more Lucy, more 40s, less Beat [beatnik to the younger semi-cognoscenti]. I dunno. Maybe someone else spousally attached to someone more into the field of Latin percussion would appreciate them more than do I. Or someone enchanted w/ Ricky & his Babalu Boychiks [another fifties appending affectation]. More Xavier, Vegas & Charo than Ginsberg & the determined unwashed. Cool, tho, in their way.
