The Egg is back and it's better than ever! Designer Peter Ghyczy created the garden Egg chair in 1968. Ghyczy Novo recently made it available again for distribution all over the world. The Egg is an ideal garden chair. It's made of plastic and so it's highly weather resistant. Closed, the chair is waterproof. Open, it's a comfortable lounge chair. Materials We have replaced the PU with high impact PS, resulting in less weight, longer life and increased strength. It meets today's environmental standards as it uses recyclable plastic. Cushion The cushion material is designed for the best seating comfort. And it's upholstered with 100% cotton, Teflon-guarded, stain-resistant denim. Already at an early stage Peter Ghyczy broke through as an innovative furniture designer. Just after making his degree in architecture at the University of Aachen he was asked by the Reuter Company to design plastic furniture. A lot of his designs date from this period (1968 - 1972) like the characteristic "Egg". In 1972 Peter Ghyczy created his own company Ghyczy Selection. " Because of the conservative attitude of manufacturers I decided to take control of the production and distribution. " The result is a timeless collection for the upper end of the furniture market. The combination of classical ideas with innovative, modern techniques creates an exceptional position in the world of interior decorating. The harmony and function, the balance between elegance and simplicity are elements that give Ghyczy Selection the title "unique".

Studio Frederik Roijé was founded in 2002 and has its office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The studio is specialized in interior, furniture and product design. Designs where concept and renewal are main points. Products have a habit of disappearing because of their functionality. We want to prevent this by giving products an additional value. Some of our products have become a part of other product lines while others are part of permanent collections of museum.
