The olive and purple silk of this late 30's or very early 40's dress has a print of leaping deer and abstract flowers. The fabric is quite fine, a lightweight silk, with a feel almost like lingerie. The front and the back of the dress are each decorated with small bows. In front, a bow ties the "keyhole" opening closed, gathering the fabric below the v-neckline. In back, the fabric across the hips is softly gathered into the bow, creating a modified "bustle" effect. The waist seam comes to a point in the center front and another point above the bow in the back. The long sleeves have puffed shoulders, but no shoulder pads, and snaps at the wrists. Bust: 34-36" Ribcage: 30" Waist: 28-29" Hip: 34-36"

This forest green wool gabardine ladies suit most likely dates to the late 1940's, due to its longer-length skirt and jacket and its very large shoulder pads. The jacket has curving lapels, turned-back cuffs and decorative pocket flaps (no pockets), is fitted through the waist, and has a double row of gold metal and green fabric-covered buttons. The skirt has a button at the waistband and a metal side zipper, and slits near the hem at each side seam. This fabulous 40's suit just needs a tilted hat and some platform heels, and you'll be ready for your film noir debut! Bust: 34" (measures 36" flat) Waist: 26" Hip: up to 34"

A column of nighttime loveliness, this ice blue 1940's or early 50s crepe nightgown from Saks is trimmed with white lace and floral appliqués. Ties just above the natural waist, and the gathers at the bust enhance the feminine shape of the gown. The neckline is wide and square in front and ved in back. The armholes and hem have dainty scalloped edges, so sweet! The nightgown is in excellent, near mint condition, possibly unworn.

The pewter patent leather of these never worn 1940s shoes is simply stunning! The shoes are open-toed sling-backs, with 3 teardrop-shaped cutouts on top, and t-straps. The heels are 2.5 inches high and the shoes are labeled a size 8. The leather, soles and straps still seem flexible. The shoes come with their original Red Cross Shoes box, and are in excellent, near mint condition, with no noted flaws.

Its lavish use of honey-gold corduroy dates this suit to late 1940's, after the relaxation of fabric restrictions imposed during WWII. The belted jacket has an unusual, curvy and pointed collar. It closes with a single covered button at the neck, and a single snap hidden under the wide, D-ring belt. The wide sleeves have deep cuffs. While the front of the jacket bodice is flat, with simple straight seams from the shoulder to the waist, the sides and back of the jacket have a more full shape, with inverted pleats adding volume. The long and full peplum has pockets hidden in its side pleats, and reaches to about mid-thigh. The skirt has a wide waistband. Below the waist, each side of the skirt has a series of pleats to add fullness, while the front and back are unpleated. The wide belt manages to balance out the volume of the pleated jacket and the pleated skirt quite well. Bust: 34-36" Waist: 28" Hip: free Sleeve length: 22"
