Uncommon Goods Artists

I love this! It's such a cool piece of rustic, folk art. And its made by Haitian artists who begin these sculptures with 55-gallon oil drum cast-offs. The ends are removed for smaller sculptures, then the drum is filled with straw and ignited, so that all the residue is burned away. The artists cut down one side and hammer the drum into a flat sheet. After the design is drawn on, the artist uses a hammer and chisel to cut the sculpture.
