"Luxury today has to be quiet and discreet - not aggressive," said Milan Vukmirovic, the creative director who worked with Beatrice Trussardi on the new concept to house the upscale 1911 line. The 200-square-meter, or 2,200-square-foot, space on Via Sant'Andrea, opening onto an interior garden and future café, is divided into 'rooms', where the New York designer Tyler Hays has created varnished oak furniture in the spirit of early modernism. A wall of music players and amplifiers adds a funky touch. But walls in squares of different marbles, veined in soft but contrasting colors, best expresses the new image: luxe, quintessentially Italian and unique.
