Norwegian Forest lights draw on a classic Scandinavian tradition of using thin birch strips for lighting. Norwegian Forest lights show a deep pine forest with animals in light and shade. An eagle registers movement on the ground is it prey or predator? When lit, the blonde birch veneer shines with a warm glow, and the delicately cut forest motif allows white light to filter out between the highlights of the trees. The shade is made from thin birch veneer mounted on white paper. The veneer is carefully laser cut by a skilled airplane model maker. The steel lamp stand is custom made at a metal workshop and powder coated white. Thin natural leather lace is twined around the legs, to soften the touch against the table surface. The shell is then hand sewn onto the frame using leather lace. All the parts are assembled by hand in the designers Oslo studio.
