The Bernard chair in solid walnut marks the culmination of 4 years design and development. Handmade by a small group of cabinet makers in Småland (Sweden), each piece requires 42 hours of intensive craftsmanship to perfect. The concept for the rocking chair is a touching tribute by industrial designer Patrick Messier to Sophie Fournier, his partner in life and business, for the birth of their first child. When Sophie announced that she was pregnant, she said, “We'll have to buy a rocking chair.” After looking in vain for a rocking chair that met all their criteria for good looks and comfort, Patrick decided to create one for Sophie. Like a ribbon suspended in space, the MAMMA rocking chair is made from a single piece of fibreglass, with a special high-gloss urethane finish. MAMMA's curves, designed on a grid based on the Fibonacci sequence, are incredibly comfortable.

Swedish woodworkers tossed out the frou-frou but wisely kept the striking and unusual arched, scalloped furniture silhouettes. Our reclaimed Douglas fir Gustavian mirror adds a contemporary green twist and honors the character of the rare first-growth fir used in its construction. Up to a century old, the rich hue, deep patina and tight grain of the wood-from razed buildings-simply cannot be duplicated in new timber. Our mirror is hand-planed to smooth its finish while preserving the distinctive textural appeal of the fir's knots, nail holes and weathering scars. Its light water-based stain, and hard oil wax, both eco-friendly, highlight the fir's singular beauty.

Handmade in Sweden by artist Karin Eriksson, each stoneware piece is hand thrown on the pottery wheel. Karin uses her own collages to create enamel transfers which decorate the surface of her pottery pieces. The collage placement on a pottery object is spontaneous, so no two pieces are alike. Karin's pottery is stamped with her logo on the bottom. Safe for dishwasher and microwave. Approx. 2.5 inches high and 2.5 inches in diameter. Handmade in Sweden.
