Silk Cocoon Thai

A full seven yards of silk and an entire day of production are required to make this stunning ruched jacket, a fact made even more remarkable in that it takes a week to make only 50 yards of the painstakingly hand spun and hand woven silk. Old-fashioned handlooms are used, and the lack of mechanical finishing processes results in a luxurious texture that reflects light brilliantly. The pleated and gathered Thai silk in a rich ruby hue cradles your body and creates a flattering, custom-fitted look. The Mandarin style collar is striking and sets off a favorite necklace beautifully. Silk-covered buttons with elastic loops keep the jacket closed flush, giving an unbroken, elegant line. Made by a master traditional tailor in Bangkok, Thailand in collaboration with New York artist Richard Tsao.
