There's hidden slit pockets right in the front of the belled shirt. It is sleeveless with short caps, round neckline and closes in the back with a long metal zipper. The jacket is short box style with long sleeves, lay back collar and a one button closing in the front. The button is a huge fabric covered with a loop to close. Absolutely beautiful, museum-quality vintage 1930's evening gown by the legendary Liberty and Co, London. A rare treat in stunning condition. Soft black velvet gown with rounded neckline, long sleeves and fitted cuffs which have tiny worked buttons and loops to narrow the fit if necessary. The bodice falls in delicate folds to the waist, front and back. The discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in the early 1920's fuelled the art deco period's taste for Egyptian inspired design, and this is reflected in the exquisite gold thread smocking which decorates the neckline, cuffs and waist of this fantastic gown. Under the smocked waist panel, the skirt flares gently to the floor, and is finished with an elegant scalloped hemline. Poppers at the left shoulder and poppers/hook and eye fastening opening at the left side. The Liberty and Co label is inside at the waist.

Vintage 1950s Jalmar Black Crepe Beaded Two Piece Cocktail Outfit Sz 16 B40 Oh this is a wonderful treasure from the 1950's. It is a 2 piece cocktail outfit by Jalmar. The top is blouson style, round neckline, short sleeves and buttons up the back with fabric covered buttons. It has the cuffed waist which fits snuggly on your hips giving a blouson effect. Front of the top is covered in black beading, all in perfect condition. They run from left shoulder to right hip giving it a lightening effect. Top is unlined. The straight skirt has a waist band with a few pleats on each side. There is a side metal zipper with an inverted back pleat. It is completely lined. The color is a deep flat black and the fabric is crepe.
