A few weeks ago we discovered Mari Santos’ work on her bananafanamomari Flickr stream and posted some of her amazing t-shirt surgeries. Mari takes huge t-shirts and transforms them into some really stylish fashion items. It turns out these designs were part of her submission to Urban Outfitters “Urban Renewal Project“.

Lovely one of a kind tank top that I made from scratch using stretchy red and black cotton knit material. The top has a longer fit, and is silk-screened with my guitar print in silver metallic paint. I added super long and skinny shoulder ties that you can let dangle down your back or tie into a big bow!

had a chance to meet Brooklyn designer Erika Rier at the recent Renegade Craft Fair. Erika’s fashion creations really caught my eye. I really love her eco-fashion pieces. She made the dress that she wore in this photo and also the shoulder bag. She sells her work at several local boutiques, and just this past week she opened an Etsy shop under the name middewynter.
