This was the Teddy Bear's true calling in 1903 when he fell into the arms of children worldwide. Today he brings back those memories of a time long ago, a friend remembered. My hope is to capture the soul of these early bears and rabbits in my own creations while adding my own design elements to make each piece unique. I find inspiration in many areas from antique bears, rabbits and toys to early textiles and sewing tools.
Each piece is an original, handcrafted of the finest German or English mohair, accented with vintage trims or fabrics, dressed in fine woolens, or left plain to show off the beauty of their fur. While still suitable as a special heirloom toy, my work has moved into the realm of adult collectible, decorative accent and soft sculpture.
