In comformity with the
decrees of Pope Urban VIII, the author formally declares that the
preternatural or seemingly supernatural facts recorded in this
historical narrative rest of purely human authority, and consequently
he does not in any way intend to pronounce a fial judgment, or to
anticipate any future decision of lawful church authority as to their
nature.
Background of the Manuscript:
In November 1873 Sister M. de L. C. of a
convent at V. began to communicate with the departed Sister M. G.
Sister M. G. is a suffering soul in Purgatory and
communicates with Sister M. de L. C.- at times the conversation is
noted, but primarily the Sister M. de. L.C. is writing the words of the
dead nun.
