”Natskallen” is hand thrown thinly of English stoneware clay. The decoration consists of three to four layers of slipping (clay dye). The slipping is layered using a wide brush. In this way the artist achieves depth in the decoration. The dry expression of the outside contrasts with the dark iron glazing on the inside of the form. The bowl is fired at 1280 degrees centigrade. The glazing is non-toxic and impervious to water. The ”Natskallen” is a 100% unique product. Every single bowl is hand thrown with the utmost care and has its own individual expression. Not one is like any other. Both colour and form vary so you will always be able to choose your own special bowl. The bowl that fits both your personality and the surroundings in which it is placed.

This hand built porcelain bird is designed to grace your tree, but others like him have been known maintain residence in the same home year round. Made of unglazed porcelain with a light wash of cobalt, it hangs from a white ribbon that extends all the way through the body of the bird. The artist uses large moist sheets of porcelain to form one-of-a-kind birds. Hand construction is done much like sewing: shapes are cut out and pieced together, creating dimension from flat surfaces. When finished, the porcelain is fired to over 2300 degrees, making your ornament extremely durable. These delightful bird ornaments will make you smile. Each is hand built; all are similar.

I made this large and unique pendant by wrapping a gorgeous oval-shaped amethyst stone in sterling silver wire. The amethyst is striped in many shades of purple and white. It measures 30mm by 40mm. The overall length of the pendant is 53mm (2 1/8 inches). This pendant is absolutely one-of-a-kind.

I made this one-of-a-kind pendant out of garnet that I collected in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. I wrapped the teardrop shaped stone in sterling silver wire. The garnet measures 40mm by 23mm. The overall length of the pendant is 55mm (2 1/8 inches).

Our one-of-a-kind Kuba pillows use the bold geometries and rich textures of vintage hand-woven raffia cloth from the Kuba people of the Congo. Several kinds of raffia cloth are employed in these unique pillows. Flat-weave cloth is woven of fibers from the raffia-palm leaves. Left in its natural color or dyed with organic red, brown and ochre dyes, it is sewn into applique and reverse-applique, traditionally used in long wrap-around dancing skirts. The flat-weave fabric may also be tie-dyed, embroidered or decorated with cowry shells. But certainly the most lavish technique is the "Shoowa velvet", small panels of flat-weave fabric which are over-woven with a raffia fiber pile cut in a manner similar to an oriental pile rug. Geometric patterns are formed by outlining areas of pile of different colors with flat-weave emroidery. The finest Shoowa velvet panels are prized by textile collectors the world over.
