Jewel neck is accented with a glinting starburst pattern: 34 lines of rhinestones and copper-red metal beads. This late 1940's dress in black moiré-patterned faille fabric is perfectly pretty from the front, with flattering princess seaming, a wide neckline, slit cap sleeves and a full skirt. The real excitement however, is located on the back of the dress: an adorable, big ivory satin bow at the waist, with matching satin flounces to the hem. Hidden behind the bow is a center back metal zipper. The dress is unlined and shown here without a crinoline, although it could be worn with one as well. Known for his sculptural approach to design, Cristobal Balenciaga was a perfectionist who obsessed over details. The apparent simplicity of this black straw hat from the late 1950’s is belied by its perfect proportions: crown just deep enough to suggest a matador, brim flatteringly wider from side-to-side than from front to back—simply lovely! The edge of the brim is wired to hold its shape, and the straw is a true black, shiny and finely woven. The shallow crown is trimmed with a narrow band of black silk organza, subtle enough not to detract from clean design. Inner circumference of the crown: 20”

Lightweight cotton calico print vintage cowgirl dress with black lace trim. Prairie skirt is full enough for a crinoline or two, with ruffle tiers front and back, plain sides, fabric belt is included. The blouse has 3/4 sleeves and a dart-fitted waist and is meant to always be tucked in, as it’s pinked and un-hemmed. The blouse measures 40 inches in the bust, 30 inches in the waist, and 23 inches long. The skirt is 27 inches in the waist, 30 inches long. New-old stock with tags, never worn and in mint condition.
