Natalieencarnita.co.uk Relaxed
summer 2008 - Gold foil decorates the surface in triangular panelling, reminiscent of geometric 1930s graphics and architecture. The daydream of first seeing such buildings against a hot and arid landscape prompts a relaxed feeling which is voiced in cotton jersey, muslin and poplin, often in a simple cream or black. Lazy sack shapes make their way into this range, as do contradictorily bold ones where dresses can have corners and four sides. These shapes are also derived from 1930s style, and are still easy-to-wear as they hang from the shoulders, suspended from spaghetti straps or wider straps that sometimes become part of the 2D panel details that feature through the collection.
