Jack Long grew up in West Chester, Pennsylvania. He received his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2002. Painting in oils on wood, his work shares a dream like palette with the Northern Renaissance painters Pieter Bruegel the Elder and Hieronymus Bosch . His paintings also draw heavily upon the tradition of storytelling, utilizng motifs and imagery found in mythology and fairytails. Jack says "I feel like people think of their lives in this way, relating moments in their lives to fairytails or mythology. My paintings have grown out of this, they illustrate how deeply rooted in storytelling, mythology and mysticism our lives are." After living in Providence, RI for many years, Jack recently moved to Los Angeles, CA. Aside from his fine art work, he is also at work on a Childrens Book project with his brother Rob.

The treasure ship that, in Japanese mythology, belongs to the seven gods of fortune bears a cargo of lucky items. Below the ship appear a lobster and the outline of a wish-granting mallet, both traditional symbols of prosperity. The calligraphy above the ship and Mt. Fuji looming in the background refer to the tradtional belief that dreaming of Mt. Fuji on the first night of the new year is fortuitous.

Beautiful colours, dreamlike fantasy and round, attractive forms is what characterizes a typical picture by Galina Pavlova, an artist and printmaker born 1962 in Bulgaria. She uses a unique graphic technique, combining in a specific way etching, aquatint and monotype. The bright colours of a typical “Pavlova” are achieved by several printings and combinations of intaglio processes. As a viewer of the art by Pavlova you must let your imagination flow with tide of the artwork. The printing plate she uses is made of zinc which has a limited durability and limits the numbers of prints per picture. A normal edition is 20-30 copies which again make the art prints more sought after by art collectors.
