#6628 - c. 1930's Unique Print Gauzy Gown! Unique open-weave gauzy material (probably a cotton/linen blend - though doesn't seem prone to wrinkling) and even more unique print design of an Aesop Fable "The Fox and the Grapes". Looks like it was silkscreen printed with fun dancing foxes. He is clothed and carries a basket while standing under the grapes, which (according to the fable by Aesop -500BC), the fox is unable to reach. Plunging "v" neckline, diamond shape at cleavage with runching, dropped waist, side metal zipper, floor length with sweeping full skirt. A great collector's piece! Measures: 34/35" bust, up to 28" waist, 62" long from shoulder to hem. Excellent condition with just two extremely minor issues... the zipper is sticky, but works and there are two teeny spots at mid-back (see last photo). Big deal!

Offered for sale is an early 1960's navy blue dress with matching jacket. This set could be considered a cocktail outfit or just a special occasion outfit. The color is a medium navy blue and the fabric feels like a linen/silk blend. The dress has a set-in waist with corded trim and two little side bows. There's hidden slit pockets right in the front of the belled shirt. It is sleeveless with short caps, round neckline and closes in the back with a long metal zipper. The jacket is short box style with long sleeves, lay back collar and a one button closing in the front. The button is a huge fabric covered with a loop to close. The dress is not lined but the jacket has a perfect silky smooth navy blue lining.

Classic! John Romain satchel in heavy harness leather plus dark brown/ green and off-white linen tweed. The little metal lion crest is on the leather near the top-front of the bag. The lion crest and the "John Romain" signature inside the bag. Brass knobs all around the bag, plus a heavy brass frame make sure this bag will keep its shape forever! More reinforcing comes from the applied leather strips along the sides. Lining is more leather. One large, separately applied leather pocket inside the bag. Not really, & usually I have a lot to say, often even effusively--for cause, too--but today has not been such a hot one. For anyone whose read any of my "about me" sorta pages, saying "the drummer compleatly lost it" should suffice. I was to start selling my vintage collection [no more space & it's about as good as this, as good as it gets, just so i can recycle & re-get, if that makes sense] but, apparently, I took too much attention away from him. Now I've taken it all away. Ah, well. Persons out there can relate thru the tears, methinks.
