Leaving behind the traditional idea of Modern rationalism which associates lighting with usefulness and functionality, Panton's lamps set the stage for colorful, playful, visionary living where moods are boldly suggestive rather than brightly lit. The VP Globe (1939) has a composite structure of transparent acrylic lucite. Five reflectors of hollowed out aluminium contain a colored lacquer finish in white, blue and orange. Available in two sizes, the VP is suspended by 3 steel chains and secured by a black fabric safety wire. A limited edition number is stamped into the stem with a certificate of authenticity. 13' cord, UL approved, max 100W.
