BUBBA A Mirror Frame 26" X 32" X 4" Basswood, 23K, 18K, and 16K Gold I think of mirrors as wall jewelry. In creating the frame for this mirror, I asked myself "What if I were to cut away as much of the wood as structurally possible?" This "reverse Swiss cheese" is the result. The wood borders have been painted gloss black. The gold disks are water-gilt and protrude pillow-like. The piece deliberately hangs three inches off the wall to create a play of shadows as the light changes.
