Karen Welsh is a contemporary ceramicist who is fascinated by the human form. Her work explores the figure from a predominantly 3D approach. Her sculptural forms are created by traditional methods often partnered with new technologies including virtual reality sculpture, digital photography & rapid prototype engineering. Following her graduation in 2000 she has received many awards, exhibited on a national & international level and has been selected as an artist in residence for many projects. She works with arts organisations & schools and galleries such as The Holburne Museum of Art, Bath University & the Arnolfini to explore the boundaries of contemporary ceramics. Her jewellery is made from silk-screen printed images fused onto fine bone china. The black & white flowers collection is inspired by classic diamonte 1930s jewellery and the blue bamboo collection features interwoven stems of Chinese bamboo.

Becky is a recent graduate of the Textile Crafts course at the University of Huddersfield where she specialised in machine knit. Since graduating I have started to use hand knit and embroidery in my work more and more. This gives me more control over the final look of a piece and helps to create the intricate look of the work that has become a trademark of my style. I like creating pretty , delicate, almost fragile looking pieces, using different types of beads, wire, ribbon, found materials, buttons, fine yarns and sequins. Every piece I create is unique as the methods I use make it impossible to make exactly the same thing twice, this makes each piece of jewellery or each accessory a piece of art in its own way.

Emma completed the BA(hons) Jewellery and Silversmithing at UCE School of Jewellery, Birmingham, in 2005. Her work regularly uses colour as a primary focus and she enjoys working in non-precious materials that allow her to create brightly coloured and quirky pieces. tokyo dreams I have had an obsession with Japan for many years and it provided me with inspiration for this range. It is a country with a strong sense of tradition and rich past, yet at the same time it is at the fore front of modern technology and has a very strong, and visual, youth culture. I used elements from traditional Kimono fabrics to create patterns which represent the traditions and past. Working with anodised aluminium allows me to apply the patterns using a variety of printing techniques and achieve the bright colours.

It is a country with a strong sense of tradition and rich past, yet at the same time it is at the fore front of modern technology and has a very strong, and visual, youth culture. The bright colours and shapes of the badges were inspired by the youth culture and I used elements from traditional Kimono fabrics to create patterns which represent the traditions and past. Web site: www.squem.co.uk Email: emma@squem.co.uk Statement: I have always enjoyed working with recycled materials and found objects, I find it fascinating how almost anything can be given a second life as something completely different with just a little imagination. Colour is one of the strongest influences in my work and that was what drew me to the postage stamps, I was amazed at the colours that existed. I also enjoy the postmarks that are left behind, giving each piece a history and individuality. I began working with anodised aluminium through a desire to create my own brightly coloured surface patterns. I enjoy the process of printing and dying the aluminium myself and the irregularities that occur. More recently I have explored using the aluminium in 3D press-formed pieces. I enjoy the transformation of "non precious" materials into something that can be treasured."

Fingerprints began in 2002 when self taught jewellery designer, Tabitha, launched her first collection of alternative accessories. Since then, both the collections, and their designer, have grown... Now Fingerprints accessories are sold throughout Britain. Inspired by nature, geometry and vivid colour, Tabitha's unique designs are characterised by the use of polymer clay, blended with sterling silver and semi-precious beads to create sometimes bold, sometimes delicate designs, with a quirky twist.
