Right now, I'm sitting here eating my Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich, watching Flight of the Conchords, submitting sites to my favorite Social Networking websites, all the while my Noguchi Akari lamp is lighting my way...I adore this lamp more than any of my other mid-century modern pieces. I only wish it was a true vintage piece...but reissues are always in mint condition, right? ;)

He combines all these elements into charmingly eccentric collages, which are reprinted and pieced together in layers under glass accessories. His designs are handmade in his studio in New York, where he employs a small staff of artists to assist with production. 5.75" dia.

The design philosophy was and still is based on a fusion of functional and aesthetic principles where art and technology blend in equal measure hence the name Artecnica. In 1993 a new division was added to design, manufacture, and market home accessories as a result of demand from department store buyers of the designs seen in publications and architectural magazines such as Italy's Interni, UK's Design Week and Los Angeles Times among others.
