Frank Gehry 1992. 2 years after receiving the Pritzker Prize--the Nobel of architecture--he released the Gehry Collection for Knoll, causing a frenzy among collectors and designers. Drawing inspiration from wicker furniture and bushel baskets, Gehry designed a collection named after ice hockey terms and fashioned from wafer-thin strips of laminated wood, bent, woven, and curled into fluid, featherweight yet sturdy forms. Before the chairs had even been released to the public, MOMA had placed early production samples in a window display. All wood grains run in same direction for resilience. Thermo-set assembly glue provides structural rigidity without the need for metal connectors, while allowing for ergonomic movement and flexibility.

Designed by George Nelson. With a view to bringing modern design right into the American home, George Nelson designed a range of products offering a new and unconventional interpretation of such everyday items as lamps, wall clocks, and other domestic accessories. George Nelson's wall clocks typify the spirit of the early 1950s and, at the dawn of a new century, are still a refreshing alternative to more traditional timepieces. The models selected by the Vitra Design Museum were designed between 1948 and 1952 and some of them continued to be manufactured until the mid-1970s. Made of wood and metal, these re-editions mirror the original design so beloved of collectors right down to the smallest detail. Not only the dimensions of the clock's housing and its hands but also the way it has been constructed, finish and color are true to Nelson's original designs.

The Pony shows the play of phantasy which is so characteristic for Eero Aarnio, and in a comfortable seat it might carry you to unknown fields of your own imagination.
