This navy blue rayon linen skirt was created with swing dancers in mind. The length of the skirt is shorter than would have been acceptible during this period. However, this would have been appropriate for a performance on stage or for screen. These cute and sexy shorts are based on a vintage pair from 1944. The shorts are deeply-pleated and read like a skirt when worn. The pleats in the front and back are top stitched near the waist for a smooth line and then left untacked for added fullness. The shorts have a 1" waistband and are stitched in black, satin-backed, rayon-acetate, faille crepe. Thay also have a zipper at the center back. The Rosalind ensemble consists of four pieces: slacks, skirt, jacket, and blouse. The jacket and skirt were based on a vintage pattern from 1946. The Rosalind skirt is a refreshing reprieve from the basic A-line skirt ubiquitous in the mid-1940s. Stitched in chocolate-brown wool crepe, the front of the skirt has box pleats for added fullness that are covered with a double yoke applique. The skirt has a zipper at the left side and 1" waistband.
